Help to Haiti!
Did you hear about the tragic in Haiti, Port-au-Prince? You have probably heard about the terrible, most damaging earthquake. Now, Haiti was a poor country, but with an earthquake there is nothing left for them. Many people have been trying to help those poor people, but no money is big enough for all of those people. Medical care, shelter, food, water, anything, would help the people. Donating to the Haitians would be a big part of the people of Haiti. The Haitians are constantly throwing what's left of buildings, houses, anything, in order to get what they want. One woman lost her baby in the tradgic, and she was depressed and said, "My life is nothing." Please comment on this post, saying something to the people of Haiti, and I will try to find a way to send the comment so many people can see it. Maybe even the Haitians can see who really care about them. I can't find a way to give them money by commenting on this blog, but at least we can share the love to them.
With many people in the world looking out for them, there's hope.

My Ski Trip!!!
THE CAR RIDE
This year I went on a ski trip with my mom and dad's friends. We were headed to Wisconsin, Madison. Since my dad's friend was a hotel employee, we got to stay in the hotel for a discount. The hotel was awesome, with a dinner and breakfast and everything. There was a parking lot underground, where you park your car so it doesn't get piled with snow. Stay Bridge, the hotel was called. Us and the other family had a different hotel room, ours bigger since we had 4 people and they had 2. It was my first time being in a hotel room with a full kitchen, and a personal bathroom with actually a door. There were 2 TVs, a couch that transformed into a bed, and a regular bed. In case you need to know, I absolutely LOVE hotels! It took about 3 hours from our home to the hotel, plus rest stops at restaurants, and we also went to HMART, a Korean market. During the trip inside the car, my brother and I ate crackers, and watched Tom and Jerry. We laughed and talked and finally, when the movie ended, we got bored. I read a book and so did my brother, the one that I had bought him for Christmas. Suddenly my brother said he needed to go to the bathroom. So we had to get out of the highway and had to find the nearest gas station. After out bathroom break, the rest of us except for my dad, who was the driver, fell asleep. When I woke up it was dark, and the streetlights were on. All of the adults had woken up, talking about the hotel. My dad and his friend got out of the car and went to sign in. My mom's friend, Monica, had to go to the bathroom so she got out. I looked down and saw that my brother, Brandon, was still sleeping. But-on my duffel bag. First I tried to pull the duffel bag out, then I tried pushing his head. My dad and his friend, Andrew, came back and my dad shouted at me to leave my brother alone. I sighed and FINALLY, we could go inside. But then my dad's friend Andrew said we needed to park in the parking lot in the underground parking lot. By that time my foot was asleep. When we had parked, my brother woke up (nice timing Brandon) and then got off my duffel bag. I carried the duffel bag, and the groceries. There were a LOT of things to bring inside, so we trudged over to the elevator.
THE HOTEL ROOM
When parents' friends had gone to their hotel room, we had privacy. We unpacked eveyrthing, looked inside the cabinets of the kitchen. There were plates, silverware, plenty of that, cups, salt, a dishwasher! My brother and I sat on the couch and turned on the TV. There was a paper full of the channels, and boy were there lots! Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, a thousand ESPN Channels, and WAYYYY more! So my brother turned on Disney Channel. We were watching Suite Life on Deck when my parents' friends knocked on the door. They came inside and my parents and them talked for a while about how we are going to eat together, because there was no table, just a small desk. They told Brandon and I to go inside the bedroom, which we were fine with because we wanted to sit on the bed. We took off our shoes and set them on the side of the bed, and turned on the TV. This time my brother turned to Cartoon Network. Garfield was on! After a while, I was starving. So I asked for crackers, and abracadabra! Monica, remember, my mom's friend, gave them to me. "Don't eat too much before dinner!" She had told me. I nodded and we ate crackers on the bed, with no parents shouting, "DON'T EAT ON THE BED!!!" We ate a Korean dinner and our hotel room smelled like spicy soup and beef. I took a nice, long shower (my dad said "Oh the water is free here!!!") and dressed into my comfortable PJs. We ate while watching TV for the whole day, and finally, we went to sleep.
THE NEXT DAY, SKIING!
The next day we were going to go skiing. I was kind of nervous since I hadn't rode them in a while, maybe last year? But my brother was all excited. He just LOVED to ski. We had to wake up pretty early...around 7 or 8, We had slept at 1 yesterday. But I didn't mind. I put on my pants from the other day, and my a shirt. We went downstairs to eat breakfast. When we got there, my parents' friends were finishing up their breakfast. Boy, do they get up early! There were waffles, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, sausages, and scrambled egg at the breakfast area. There were juices of every kind, coffee, water, skm milk and regular milk. I ate hungrily and went for seconds, then thirds. Our family ate at least 2 or 3 waffles, with some cranberry sauce or something, and lots and lots of whipped cream. For once my mom was the first one to say, "It needs more whipped cream!" When we were back inside out hotel room changing, I wore leggings and my snowpants over it. I wore a turtleneck long sleeves and a snowboarding jacket, although I don't snowboard. I wore gray snowpants that were very fashionable. I had so much fun skiing that day and the next day. We skiied so much and the day slowly crept up-we had to leave. We had already signed out of the hotel, so we didn't need to go back to the hotel. My dad, the driver once more, drove us through the darkness to a nearby Korean restaurant. It was delicious, and after we headed for home. When we got home and everyone had left, the whole famliy was tired and we fell asleep fast. I loved that time and hope to go again!

My Summer Vacation!
Korea was real fun, but I got sick for a few days so I couldn't go anywhere but my grandma's house. My other grandma and grandpa were dying to see me. That was a big waste of days, for the airplane fee, 15 hours of sickness on the plane. But after a little while I got better-but my brother got sick this time! So we spent more days taking care of my little brother, and then we both felt fine. We went to a HUGE and TALL building called the Namsan Tower. Since it was so tall, we had to take a cable car all the way up there! Wow! But it was worth it. There was a Korean Parade with people dressed up in old-fashioned Korean soldiers, and some were pounding drums, some were holding real spears, and one was the king. We saw that and then went further along. We saw what amazed each one of us-A Teddy Bear Museum! Inside, there were teddy bears moving, working, dressed up in Kings, Queens, Princes, Princesses, and servants. They were all working and doing stuff like cooking, cutting branches, and other stuff like that. There was this cute little bear that was in every scene, and he was always doing mischievous stuff, like climbing walls! There were some bears that were dancing, shopping, and more. There were some HUGE bears the size of me, all dressed up. The Namsan Tower was awesome, and so was the Dong-Dae-Mune. That's a shopping place! Shopping for clothes, shoes, purses, and more!!!! I got some really cute stuff from there. Another place we went to was................THE PHILIPPINES!!!! The real Philippines! It was a 4-hour ride on the airplane. Luckily, I didn't get sick. We went with my mom's side of the family, except for my other uncle and my grandma, because my other uncle was working and my grandma's waist hurt. Cebu, was where we went to, where there was a whole bunch of poor people climbing on to buses, trying to sell their products. Guess what I did? We went snorkeling, fishing, and we went on a banana boat, where there is a rubber raft with no seat, that is attached to a string that is attached to another boat that a man is driving. The waves that splatter onto you make you hands slippery, so they will slip off of the handle and fall into the ocean in the middle of nowhere. That was fun for my mom, my brother, and my uncle, but my aunt and I were screaming our heads off! The waves made the raft go up really high, so out butts rose off of the raft. Another thing we did at the Philippines were Para Sailing. I bet you don't know what that is. A boat attaches a thin string to a Parachute, and the parachute is connected to a rope that you have to hold onto for dear life. It's not exactly a seat. So if you position the wrong way, you fall off into the deep, dark, ocean. You go up really high, 75 meters!!!! People seem REALLY tiny, and boats seem really small. Wow! The hotel was awesome, we ate with baby lizards, and I was sad to leave. When we were back in Korea, nearly the last day of being there, I went to EverLand, an amusement park! It is HUGE, and I rode all these scary rides!!!! It was totally awesome and I ate a whole huge bag of cotton candy by myself. Yum! I hope you like my paragraph about visiting Korea, and I took a lot of time typing this. So, next time YOU visit somewhere and have lots of fun, email me at juliekang99@gmail.com. Thanks!!!!!
